Founder

Eric Lunani

Founder and Chairman of Hurman Technologies Group. A technology entrepreneur based in Nairobi, working across artificial intelligence, capital and state capacity.

He founded Hurman in 2023 as a Kenyan technology holding company, a long-term vehicle for building frontier companies from Nairobi. Its portfolio spans biometric identity, applied artificial intelligence in education, and public-sector technology partnerships. Within it, the Palm Identity Network is developing a contactless palm-vein recognition stack for authentication and payments, tuned for African identity contexts.

Outside Hurman he is founder of the Autonomous Advancement Initiative, a cooperation framework established in principle in 2025 with Kenya’s State Department for Foreign Affairs, to build the legal and institutional groundwork for sovereign digital infrastructure. He co-founded EDU AI Research, which pilots AI-assisted assessment and feedback in Kenyan classrooms, and Nova Garage, a state-level convening that brings builders, capital and government into one room to back African founders. Nova Garage was pre-launched in Nairobi on 11 May 2026 under the high patronage of H.E. President William Ruto.
